1996: The Beginnings
In 1996, after more than fifteen years of experience as a heavy vehicle driver, Sylvain Blanchette decided to pursue his passion by founding his own company. He started with one truck and a semi-trailer.
Demand quickly grew. Owner-operators joined the operations, forming a business model built on trust and collaboration—values that remain at the core of the company to this day.
In 2004, a second truck was acquired and the first Class 1 driver was hired.
In 2006, the company permanently established itself in the Saint-Romain industrial park.
In 2011, an expansion of the head office made it possible to add administrative offices and a break room for employees.
Over the years, the fleet has been modernized, equipment has diversified (Flatbed and Drybox trailers), and the company has strengthened its reputation as a trusted carrier in the Lac-Mégantic region and throughout Quebec.
2024: A Strategic Acquisition and Natural Continuity
In 2024, Transport Sylvain Blanchette was acquired by a long-time business partner, David Routhier, who is also the owner of Transport F. Routhier.
This acquisition is a strategic decision, grounded in a shared vision of the industry and clear operational synergy. The two companies already had similar ways of working, a compatible business model, and high standards in terms of safety and service.
Rather than creating a large, impersonal structure, the decision was made to maintain two companies that collaborate closely—an approach that preserves agility, close client relationships, and the strong identity of each business.
